
The Rangers and Edmonton Oilers have announced new four year, $35 million contract extension extensions for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ryan Callahan, respectively, the teams announced Tuesday.
Callahan will become a restricted free agent July 1, 2021, and the Rangers will be in the market for an experienced forward to fill out their roster.
Callahans salary is $4.8 million annually, according to Spotrac, a site that compiles salary data.
The Oilers will receive a fourth-round pick in 2020 and the deal will pay Nugent $4 million per season for the next four seasons.
The Oilers are set to open training camp in Buffalo on Wednesday.
The first game of the season is set for Sept. 5 at the Pepsi Center against the Sabres.
